Media-05 isnt logging on in either of the several ways of doing it.

Also, if anyone is down at the media center, please tell whoever is in charge that people are using the Graphics computers for Microsoft Word and MySpace/Browsing. Its hard for anyone to get graphic arts work done with people using the marked computers. Thanks!

When you're at the media center, if someone is on a CART machine, just tell them up front. They will ask the student to move. But they can't read your mind, and it doesn't make sense to keep those machines empty if there is not any CART people on it.

As far as the graphic arts computers, I'd just let the person know that you are a graphic arts major, and if there is any issue, talk to Gino Segovia, Adela Gott, Rodney, or Terrence Peak about needing to use one of the machines if you don't want to directly approach a student on one. You can also talk to whoever is at the front desk, or a person in the Print room if needed.

There is also a very very nice machine in the corner connected to the large scale Epson scanner. It's a Pentium dual core, with 2 gigs of ram, and it's loaded with the Adobe CS2 suite and Macromedia stuff, not sure about Maya. I love using that machine on the weekends...great with those large InDesign files or Illustrator files! It's not labled as a graphic arts machine, but it blows away the ones that are allocated to us. The other machines you speak of, have 512 megs of ram (scary) and the monitors aren't exactly great for your eyes (usually pretty darn blurry). Hopefully we are in store for newer machines soon, as the rest of the machines have been updated in that room.
