Yes its been decided that ILM will convert Nightmare Before Christmas into 3D,
personally if I were Tim Burton I;d take that as an insult.
IMHO I find all of Tim Burtons stop motion work to be flawless, timeless pieces of art, him, Steve box, and Nick Park are like the prodigal children of Ray Harryhausen.
