Just curious if anyone was going to get Nintendo's new handheld (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/09/21/news_6107996.html) meant for competing with the PSP. Its wireless...WIRELESS!!! You can actually talk to other people in wireless hot spots with the built-in mic. I have it pre-ordered at work. I just have to finish paying it off and I will be golden. RAWR!

Where do you work? A video game shop?

I'm not sold on the DS yet... looks cool, but the touch pad/screen is a weird concept for me. I'd have to hold the thing in my hands and give it a whirl before I shell out $150 for that.

One of the cool features is the wireless feature, but with the release of Pokémon Fire Red and Leaf Green, a wireless adapter for the GBA is available now. I've that it works quite, but basically bypasses the old GBA Link Cable.

When you finally get it, you'll have to bring so we can take a look at it. ;)

I work at Gamestop at Naco and O'conner.

Its really a nifty system. Here (http://www.gamespot.com/ds/index.html?tag=gs_lnav_ds) is some info about the system as well as the games. Nintendo will have a few demo systems out in places closer to the launch date.

Its true that Leaf Green and Fire Red come with the wireless adaptor, but the game has to support it for it to be of any use. I only know two games that allow that, well, three, Fire Red, Lear Green and Digimon Racing.

The DS will play GBA cartridges, but not GB/C carts. Not to mention it won't allow for multiplayer either. The only reason they have a GBA slot is a place to put accessories.

I will bring it in the Monday after it comes out, seeing as how it launches on a Sunday.

Also here is a bit more news about the DS. (http://www.gamespot.com/news/2004/09/21/news_6107998.html)
