If we see something thats really awsome and that could be functional in what we do (lets say, either a perspective drawing of a character, or a thumbnail, or a rough ect.) can we make our own style sheet from that drawing or do we need permision from the artist. Also lets say we were to use a fusion of many different designs in one style sheet, could we also pick and choose from other concepts?

There were soem stuff on the Expose I and II where a 3d artist converted a 2d artists work into 3d, they did just like you said,the 3d guy asked permission, and the 2d guy said sure, but with assurance that you sited the 3d guys work, Obviously. As to any source that needs to be sited, this is applied in the same way. Its not like the 2d guy is going to decline your request to convert his art. So more then likely the whole deal is notification.
